All the planned strategic investments for the modernization of production are in progress a year after the international glass industry Vaider Group took over Srpska Fabrika Stakla (SFS) Paracin, the company announced. As they add, in the first phase, the investment in the new production furnace with a capacity of 270 tons a day, which will start working in the spring of 2024, is worth EUR 50 million.

It is added that SFS will thereby additionally boost its position in the market of packaging glass for the food and beverage industry.

The company points out that the preparations for the next phase are in progress as well – the construction of a new, greenfield factory with four production lines, which should be completed at the end of 2025, and in 2026, it is supposed to increase its production capacities to about 500 tons of high-quality packaging glass a day.

The entire investment is estimated at around EUR 100 million.

They have also announced projects of cooperation with the local community in Paracin, which include the donation of 5,000 water bottles to all pupils and students of the elementary and secondary schools in Paracin, a contest for 20 scholarships for the professions of the future and a donation of 21 computers to students of the local schools.

– With the commissioning of the new furnace, the number of jobs will increase and SFS will move up to the category of producers of modern glass packaging, where the needs of the customers and the added value have changed essentially in the past decade. We have successfully gone through a similar process in the past decade in the production location in Slovenia, at Steklarna Hrastnik, as well. That experience is very useful now – said the CEO of SFS Paracin and Vaider Group, Peter Cas.
