The qualifications of labor force in Serbia will soon be available in English, so those interested will be able to see their status in other systems as well and view the possibilities for employment or continued education outside the country’s borders as well, EU Info Center announced.

This will be enabled through the connecting of the National Framework of Qualifications of Serbia (NOKS) with the European framework, which is aided by the European Union through the project “Development of an Integrated System of National Qualifications”.

The connecting with the European framework of qualifications is in progress and the descriptions of qualifications in Serbia will soon be available in English as well, so everyone interested will be able to see the status of their qualification in other systems and to view the possibilities for employment or continued education outside the Serbian borders too.

All the qualifications can now be found in the Qualifications Register, an electronic database which exists from 2021 and is available on the website of the Qualifications Agency.

The register enables everyone to find out which jobs they can do with a certain qualification, or, in line with the principles of lifelong learning, seek potential routes and ways of switching from one qualification to another if they want to change professions, or move from one qualification level to another, if they decide to continue the education process.

Another new feature provided by the national framework of qualifications is the establishment of a mechanism for the introduction of new qualifications.

This change means that new qualifications will no longer be introduced only at the request of the education sector, with the aim of making the offer varied and attractive to students. New qualifications can now be introduced at the proposition of employers, trade unions, the civil sector and others who recognize the importance and the need for a new qualification.
