PayPal partners with Instagram on new shopping experience
Checkout on Instagram, which will be available within posts and stories with shopping stickers and tags, enables Instagram users in the U.S. to buy, track and manage their purchases directly within Instagram and allows businesses to sell directly on Instagram without the buyer having to change contexts, PayPal announced.
After discovering a checkout-enabled product, shoppers will see the option to “Checkout on Instagram” when they tap to view additional details. Shoppers will be able to securely store their preferred payment type, including PayPal, for faster checkout on future purchases.
Shoppers can also use the Instagram app to view their order status, estimated delivery date and tracking number, as well as cancel orders, initiate a return, or request additional support.
The company adds that this new experience is supported by PayPal’s latest full-stack processing platform, PayPal for Partners, which allows Instagram to manage the end-to-end commerce experience for buyers and sellers.
PayPal is enabling the next generation of commerce experiences for partners, while making the onboarding process seamless with new One Touch Seller Signup.
