Shopping center Rajiceva hosts first customers in 2015 - Story about huge complex in the heart of Belgrade continues

The opening of the shopping center in Rajiceva in the center of Belgrade is due in 2015. At least that is the information investors published and confirmed for our portal. However, we did not receive information on the beginning of the construction works on the complex totaling EUR 100 mill in the old part of the capital.

- ABD d.o.o. company in Rajiceva street is building a modern complex in line with the world highest standards. A shopping mall with an underground garage will be built in the first phase while a hotel will be built in the second one. ABD has continuous cooperation with all relevant institutions and operates in line with the permits it obtains as well as with valid procedures and laws in Serbia – ABD, which founded Israeli Ashtrom Group and Belgrade-based Avital, said for eKapija.

As we were told in ABD, company leasing partner is already negotiating with local and international brands which will be present in the Rajiceva shopping center.

The shopping mall should have six floors for renting with more than 80 outlets of 15.300 m2 and three underground parking space with 500 parking places. Investors are announcing that this project will bring retailers not present yet or new concepts of the existing ones.

Except from fashion brands, the shopping mall will have shops of cosmetics and beauty shops. The area of old Belgrade famous for cafes and restaurants will be enriched with fun component of the Rajiceva shopping mall. It will have a few carefully selected cafes and restaurants which will make the existing offer diverse. They should be placed at all mall levels and most of them at the third floow with a view over the old part of the city.

Answering the needs of not only visitors from other parts of the city but also of those living nearby Rajiceva, the center will have a supermarket, various service units and other elements necessary for everyday life comfort such as household appliances, decoration, sports and leisure things, stationary and equipment, pharmacies, banks, mobile operators, etc.

The hotel part is predicted to be on the side of Uzun Mirkova and Pariska streets. As said, the hotel will have 240 rooms and suites and everything else a five star hotel has. There will be four entrances and there will be a small square at the space in Knez Mihailova street and it will merge into the pedestrian zone.

Waiting for Rajiceva

Deadlines for start and finish of the construction works on the lot occupying a hectare between Uzun Mirkova, Tadeusa Koscuskog and Knez Mihailova have been delayed as of 2003. Unsolved property ownership, archeological research, funding problems are said to be crucial troublespots. The beginning of construction in Rajiceva, ABD company announced for January 2011.

Time spent on waiting for the new building is best-illustrated in the data that the competition for the architecture-urban design of the hotel-business center in Rajiceva 14 years ago. Milаn and Vlаdimir Lojаnicа won then the first prize.

Vladimir Lojanica says for eKapija that he does not have specific information on the initial works but that he is expecting a designer of the building in Rajiceva will be included in the complex construction.
