The agreement on the construction of the bypass route around Novi Sad, with a bridge on the Danube, will be signed “in the near future”, announced the director of the PE Corridors of Serbia, Aleksandar Antic, as announced by the City of Novi Sad. At the meeting with the mayor of Novi Sad, Milos Vucevic, the minister of construction, transport and infrastructure of Serbia, Tomislav Momirovic, and the general manager of CRBC Serbia, Zhang Xiaoyuan, Antic emphasized that a huge progress had been made when it comes to the construction of the bypass route and the bridge.

His expectations are also shared by the mayor of Novi Sad.

– We are getting closer to the realization of this project, and the discussion about the bridge is no longer at the level of mere ideas and suggestions. Instead, things are getting concrete. I expect the construction to start relatively soon, because the conditions for it have met – the mayor of Novi Sad, Milos Vucevic, said.

The plan is for the bridge to stretch for 2.4 kilometers, from the roundabout of Evrope Blvd to the bypass route near Sremska Kamenica, with four driving lanes and a cycling and pedestrian lane.
