Support of Visegrad Group to Facilitated Trade of Western Balkans with EU – Declaration Signed in Budapest
– We appeal to the governments of the Visegrad Group to advocate the enabling of a facilitated flow of goods, services, people and capital between the EU states and the Western Balkans – said Marko Cadez, the president of the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia (CCIS) and the presiding party of the WB6 CIF at the session of the Management Board of the region’s joint chamber, held after the meeting and the signing of the declaration with the chambers of the VG4.
According to the CCIS website, at the session of the Management Board of the WB6 CIF, the request of the six chambers of commerce of the region made to the European Union to enable visa liberalization for citizens from Kosovo and Metohija was repeated, because, according to Cadez, the economy cannot grow and small and medium enterprises cannot develop as long as people cannot travel and contract jobs.
Through the joint declaration, the chambers of commerce of the VG4 – Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and the Czech Republic, gave full support to the accession of the six economies of the Western Balkans to the EU and the integration of the regional economies into the single European market, it is added.
Representatives of these ten chambers of commerce, the VG4 and the WB6 CIF, pointed out the importance of improving the business and investment climate and the development of the private sector in the Western Balkans and emphasized that the priorities were a sustainable economic growth, digital and green transformation of the industry and energy security in line with the EU’s Green Agenda for the Western Balkans.
