National airliner Jat Airways bought six new "škoda octavia" vehicles, one "škoda fabia" and six "peugeot boxer" passenger vans worth total of 280,000 EUR. The company's management, which ended last year with the losses of 15m EUR, decided to buy automobiles from automobile showroom Samardžić and vans from Verano Motors.

- It is interesting that there were only two bidders on the tender for supply of automobiles - automobile showroom Samardžić and automobile showroom Stojanović, both of which sell Škoda vehicles. The bid of the latter was declared as irregular, so that Samardžić won the tender. People in JAT did not specify why the offer of Stojanović was irregular, but since the tender commission did not take Stojanović's application in consideration, the price they asked for automobiles has not been revealed. When it comes to the tender for procurement of vans, the bidders were Verano Motors and Mercedes-benz, and the latter offered the price of 217,000 EUR plus VAT - said the people from JAT.

According to the information provided by that company, "octavia" vehicles will be bought on five-year leasing through VB Leasing in total value of 111,579 EUR, while the leasing for "peugeot" vehicles, worth 141,944 EUR plus VAT, that is, 167,500 EUR with tax, will be repaid within next three years to Hypo Alpe Adria Leasing. New "octavia" vehicles are from "ambient" series, which is one level above the usual version "classic" and costs 13,540 EUR, plus VAT and interest for leasing, that is, 16,000 EUR with the tax, which is standard price at which Samardžić sells these automobiles. JAT also procured "fabia", which costs 9,570 EUR without TAX and leasing, that is, 11,300 EUR with the tax.

People from the national airliner told daily newspaper Danas that the automobiles would be in concrete use and estimated that JAT had 37 automobiles and vans at the moment, "which is not enough for the needs of the company's development". JAT is the company that neither increases nor decreases number of employees, and it will, most probably, end this year with losses since CEO Srđan Radovanović said that the company's plan to transport 1.5m people in 2010, which would make it possible for the company to avoid registering another business minus, "now seems difficult to achieve".

People in JAT say that the national airliner is a large company that, in spite of the announced sale of the administrative building in Umetnosti Boulevard and relocation of the whole company to Airport Nikola Tesla, needs to purchase additional seven vehicles for its motor pool "for the needs of maintenance of regular communication between the employees and clients and partners".
