Kopernikus bought for around EUR 200 million?
Telekom Srbija, which bought a 100% stake in Kopernikus yesterday, didn't disclose the price of the transaction.
The Commission for Protection of Competition of Serbia has confirmed that it has approved the takeover of the second biggest cable operator in Serbia by Telekom.
– With its good user base and financial indicators, Kopernikus Technology will enable Telekom Srbija to make a return on the investment in under five years and contribute to the company's value and a long-term increase of EBITDA by more than EUR 23 million annually – says the written response of Telekom Srbija to BIRN.
BIRN previously reported that Telekom Srbija was also behind the strategic partnership with Adria Media Group.
– With the purchase of Kopernikus, Telekom has become competition to SBB, the biggest cable operator in Serbia and the region. SBB recently changed ownership, when KKR Group sold its majority stock to an English investment fund for around USD 2.6 billion, making it one of the biggest acquisitions – BIRN said.
They add that this is the biggest acquisition by Telekom Srbija since the purchase of Telekom Republike Srpske in the fall of 2006, when a majority stock was bought for over USD 600 million.
