Niska Banja restores park and promenade with EU funds - Renovation of central square with fountains next

The EU has invested more than EUR 400 million to date in local governments in Serbia for the purpose of joining the EU integration process and this year`s allocated funds a mount to EUR 25 million. At the meeting of representatives of almost all local governments in Serbia and European Parliament ambassadors held at Oficirski Dom in Nis there were discussions about administering the fund and one of the topics was development of tourism industry. The guests were given a presentation on Niska Banja City Municipality projects financed by IPA funds.

Namely, the presentation gave the description of the cross-border cooperation project with Bulgarian municipality Zemin which is estimated at EUR 450,000.

– The park and central promenade in Niska Banja have been renovated during the project realization and now the reconstruction f the main city square with fountains was approved as well. The Ministry of Tourism has allotted RSD 15 million to the project, the local government in Nis has given RSD 10 million, Niska Banja City Municipality RSD 2 million and public utility companies Parking Servis and Medijana assigned RSD 1,5 million, quoted Dejan Jovanovic, the Mayor of this City Municipality.
