New tender for Old Mt. – potential investors asked for changes in conditions
State Secretary for Tourism of Serbia, Goran Petkovic, stated that the new tender for co-investor in construction of tourist complex at Old Mt. would be published as interested investors asked for changes in tender conditions.
- New tender should be announced by the end of the first quarter of this year, it was stated by Petkovic in the interview for Beta agency, adding that two companies were interested – the Austrian “Immorent”, which is a part of “Erste Group” and the Serbian “Energoprojekt”.
- We know that the interest of investors exists, but that they are looking for changes of the tender. On the contrary we wouldn’t be in the rush, having in mind the financial crisis, but as we can see the interest, we want to use it, he said.
Petkovic also said that interested investors were asking that the minimum investments of 156 million euros would be divided on several smaller ones, so it could be more acceptable for their credit boards.
- Because of the world financial crisis, minimum investments of 156 million euros, as it was the condition in the tender, is not a kind of risk investors could take on now, stated State Secretary for Tourism, Petkovic.
According to his words, the second objection of investors was to the model of co-investing, and they asked that the same model would be changed in the joint participation in investments.
- We will react to these objections and offer to the Government what could be acceptable investment model at Old Mt., said Petkovic.
