What remains of Budimka? – Valuation of ruined Pozega giant soon
– There's been an encouraging number of parties interested in purchasing Budimka so far, coming from Serbia and several countries of Europe and Asia – the notice says.
The bankruptcy trustee opened a public invitation for valuers of the solvency of the property of the bankruptcy debtor in late November. Confineks Belgrade, offering a gross amount of RSD 864,000, Agencija Olimpija Uzice (RSD 540,000) and Beoconex Belgrade (RSD 504,000) responded.
The Board of Creditors will select the company to perform the valuation by the end of the year.
Let us remind that the formerly biggest agricultural-industrial combine in this part of Serbia, which used to purchase products from several thousand households, making 40 thousand tons of fruit, vegetable and meat products a year, some of which were even popular among the US Marines, started experiencing problems in the 1990s. It was unsuccessfully privatized in 2008, and the employees themselves initiated the production two years later and started returning to the market. In 2012 alone, jam products worth EUR 750,000 were produced and sold in the German market.
In 2016, the production in Budimka stopped, and the company went into bankruptcy in February that year. At the time, a Chinese investor was being mentioned as a potential buyer.
Budimka officially declared bankruptcy in November 2017. The Board of Creditors consists of Pan Komerc, the Public Revenue Administration – Pozega, Agroplod 2008 and Top Ekspres Pozega.
