Tigar is preparing to launch new products, such as rubber ballistic panels and curtains, as well as flood-defense blocks, which will be produced from waste car tires, director of Tigar a.d, Vladimir Ilic, says for Pirotske Vesti.

Rubber ballistic blocks and panels are products made from recycled rubber, designed to be able to absorb bullets in target practices, prevent them from ricocheting, prevent the creation of lead dust and help lower the noise at shooting ranges.

They are positioned behind targets and are resistant to a full range of light ammunition used by the military, the police and in shooting sports. The company used its own technology to develop them and they can be modified in line with client request.

Ballistic curtains are also being developed and will belong to the rubber foil range of products based on natural rubber.

Ballistic curtains secure an automatic sealing of the penetration point of a bullet, effectively preventing ricocheting and the creation of lead dust and lead particles, while also muffling the noise.

The main advantage of ballistic curtains is their great flexibility, and they are suitable for exterior use thanks to their ozone and UV resistance.

Flood-defense blocks, as they say in Tigar, are the best way to recycle old car tires, contributing to environmental protection.

Compared to sandbags, currently the only means of flood defense locally, this product is far more efficient, more easily mounted and demounted and easily recycled for production of new blocks. It can be used several times in cities, villages or any area under risk of flooding. Unlike traditional sandbags, they system does not require filling materials, which means that recycled rubber blocks can be arranged quickly, using minimal resources.

When it comes to further plans, Vladimir Ilic says that “the possibilities are great, both in the segment of rubber footwear for professional use and use in sports and in the segment of specialized products for the arms industry, the transport infrastructure, the car industry and the construction sector”.
