US manufacturer of confectioneries "Mars" announced yesterday (April 28, 2008) that it had bought famous manufacturer of chewing gums "Wrigley" for 23 billion USD.

Stockholders of "Wrigley" got the price of 80 USD per stock, which is 28% higher price than the current market price of stocks of that company.

It is expected that the newly formed concern will realize income in amount of 27 billion USD this year, 17 billion USD of which should be earned by "Wrigley".

"Mars" is the most famous for its chocolate bars "mars" and "snickers".

Market analysts are of the opinion that merger of "Mars" and "Wrigley" will stimulate further integrations on the market and accelerate negotiations between the competitors, such as British concern "Cadbury Schweppes" and US "Hershey".
