Belgrade to get congress hall with 4,050 seats – “Blue Hall” of Sava Centar to be opened in September

The reconstructed “Blue Hall” of Sava Centar, which will be able to take in 4,050 visitors, will be opened on September 3, and one of the first events will be the concert of the popular Konstrakta and the band Zemlja Gruva. The opening of “Blue Hall” also marks the completion of the full renovation of Sava Centar, in which EUR 120 million has been invested.

– With the opening of the “Blue Hall”, Belgrade and Serbia can host big congresses and events with several thousand participants. Since November last year, when Sava Centar opened, we have had more than 150 events – said Kristina Milincic, the CEO of Sava Centar.

The look of the “Blue Hall” has been preserved, but also innovated. It will have VIP lodges and an additional five rows, and it is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, acoustics and the biggest 3D movie screen in the region.

The hall will be able to accommodate concerts, movie screenings, theater plays, musicals, as well as large world congresses and conferences.

– The reconstruction of Sava Centar and the opening of the “Blue Hall” is extremely important for the whole tourism of Serbia. We felt how much those years when Sava Centar was out of function affected the number of business guests. One business tourist spends EUR 300 to 350 per day – said Marija Labovic, the director of the Tourism Organization of Serbia.

In addition to congress tourism, this kind of facility, she adds, is also important for event tourism, because each third tourist who comes to our country visits an event as well.

The secretary for culture of the City of Belgrade, Natasa Mihailovic Vacic, pointed out that the “Blue Hall” had always been a place for the celebration of culture in its purest form.

– We therefore eagerly await the opening, and I am also glad that the importance of investing in such facilities has been recognized by private companies – said Mihailovic Vacic.

One of the first events that will be held in the “Blue Hall” is the concert of Konstrakta and the band Zemlja Gruva, which is scheduled for September 19.

– Since 2022, we have wanted to play a Belgrade show, but there was no adequate space, because it’s either too big or too small. So now I can say: here it comes, here it comes – the artist made a characteristic statement.
