Unemployment rate in Serbia 19%
The rate is the highest in the Belgrade area (20.5%), followed by Southern and Eastern Serbia (20.2%) and Vojvodina (19.2%), whereas the unemployment rate is the lowest in Sumadija and Western Serbia (16.6%).
The announcement states that the youth employment rate in the first quarter of 2016 relative to the same quarter of 2014 has increased from 13.1% to 16.2%, whereas the unemployment rate in that period has decreased from 52.5% to 44.2%.
The survey was carried out using the sample of 11,500 households and applies to the first quarter of the year.
