Preliminary Feasibility Study and General Project of E70 Highway from Pancevo to Romanian Border Being Prepared

The PE Roads of Serbia has opened the tender for the preparation of the Preliminary Feasibility Study with the General Project of the E70 highway Pancevo-Vrsac-Romanian border.

According to the project task, the aim of the preparation of the documentation is to estimate the economic and social potentials of the development of a traffic connection with Romania, through the construction of the part of the highway from Pancevo, through Vrsac, to the border.

It is added that the future route of the highway is the continuation of the future bypass route around Belgrade (Dobanovci-Ostruznica-Bubanj Potok-Vinca-Pancevo) and that it will be the shortest road connection of Romania, through Serbia and Montenegro, with Corridor X and south Italy and Albania, that is, with the Mediterranean basin. In the internal traffic system, the highway will connect the economy of south Banat with Belgrade, central regions of Serbia, Montenegro and the Port of Bar.

The planning documentation for the new highway and the network of traffic routes should entail the preparation of time projections, the theme of the planning of the transport system, the general plan of the spatial level compared to Serbia and Europe and the plan of the gravitational area pertaining to regions and municipalities.

Based on this planning documentation, which will define the potential location of the corridor, the general project will be prepared, which will further define the sections and the phases of the construction.

The value of the preparation of the project documentation for the E70 highway is RSD 75 million.
