Subotica ready to build aqua park, wellness and spa center - Draft amendments to Detailed Regulation Plan for part of Banja Palic area adopted

The City Council of Subotica adopted Thursday the draft Decision on amendments to the Detailed Regulation Plan for part of the area Banja Palic (Palic Spa) in Palic.

The amendments to the Detailed Regulation Plan for part of the area Banja Palic, which should be designed by the Town Planning Institute within seven months, include the consolidation of several land parcels and formation of a unique building lot of 8.67 hectares. It is an attractive space south of Prezident hotel, between the Palic and Omladinsko lakes.

- Construction of a wellness and spa center and an aqua park in that area is in the pipeline. The area between the Krvavo and Palic lakes will remain a public surface, and it will be bridged by a footbridge - said Kornelija Evetovic Cvijanov from the Town Planning Institute.

The adopted item from the agenda will be forwarded to the City Assembly for consideration. The next session of the City Assembly is scheduled for July 21st.

Slovenia's Terme Olimia announced the opening of a spa complex in that location, with a four-star hotel, wellness, aqua and spa centers, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, but then gave up that project in late 2010.
