Lidl conducts market research in Serbia - Belgian Delez as serious competitor

- Lidl currently examines terms and opportunities in numerous countries, including Serbia, and we will make the decision on whether to enter the market of Serbia once all the analyses are finished - Stefan Krikel from the headquarters of Lidl in Germany told daily paper Blic when he was asked when that market chain would start operating in our country and if it would be cheaper than the competition, as it was the case in Europe.

Lidl registered a company in Serbia on December 22, 2010. The founder is Lidl Serbia Supermarketi.

These data provided by the Business Registers Agency have enabled the Ministry of Trade to announce the arrival of the German market chain in the market of Serbia.

Judging by earlier announcements, the arrival of Lidl may be preceded by the arrival of its competitor. The sale of Delta Maxi market chain is scheduled for the beginning of this year and the most serious buyer is Delez from Belgium.
