"Mercator S" opened new "Roda centers" in Sombor and Senta - investment of about 9m EUR for new 17,000 square meters

"Mercator-S" opened new "Roda Center" at 7 AM today (December 18, 2009) in Sombor. The facility worth 8m EUR is modernly furnished and occupies over 9,000 square meters of surface. "Mercator-S", as the tenant of the retail facility, invested nearly 2m EUR in the furnishing of "Roda Center". Opening of this "Roda Center" resulted in employment of 120 people from Sombor, about 80 of whom got jobs in the sales department of "Mercator".

- "Mercator-S" maintained and even increased the level of investments in Serbia in 2009. The amount of investments in 2009 is estimated at about 45m EUR, which is 15% more than in 2008. Opening of "Roda Center" in Sombor only confirms that we kept implementing the strategy for further development of retail network in Serbia in 2009, as well as in Sombor where we opened 8 retail facilities this year in order to provide the best shopping conditions for the people from this city and its surroundings - said MA Stanka Čurović, the President of the Administrative Board of "Mercator-S".

In addition to "Roda Supermarket", "Roda Center" in Sombor also comprises the store of household appliances and articles "M Centar tehnike", fashion store "Modiana", perfume store "Beautique", sports footwear and apparel store "Intersport", pharmacy, as well as rich offer of domestic and foreign brands of textile, footwear, clothing and toys. All these contents make "Roda Center" a great place for shopping and entertainment for the people of all ages. "Roda Centar" in Sombor also has 45 indoor parking places.

- We are proud of the fact that the business center in Sombor was built according to global standards and before the agreed deadline, and that it comprises "Roda Center". I believe that the citizens of Sombor and surroundings will now have their favorite place for hanging out with friends and family shopping - said Željko Rebrača, the investor and the owner of the retail facility.

Within the scope of expansion of its retail network, "Mercator-S" also opened new "Roda Center" in Senta yesterday. "Roda Center", the facility worth nearly 7m EUR, is modernly furnished and occupies the surface of 8,000 square meters. Opening of this "Roda Center" enabled employment of over 60 people from Senta. Wishing to support development of the local community in which it operates, "Mercator-S" donated 150,000 RSD to the Maternity Ward in Health Center "Dr Gere Ištvan".
