"MK Group" to invest 12m EUR in refurbishment of tourism complex on Kopaonik mountain

- "MK Group" will invest 12m EUR in refurbishment of tourism complex on Kopaonik mountain by the end of the year 2012 - said Miodrag Kostić, the President of "MK Group" .

- The money will be invested in refurbishment of hotel "Grand" and suite complex "Konaci", which should get four stars after that - Kostić said to the press on Kopaonik.

While presenting tourism plans of "MK Group", Kostić said that over 4m EUR would be invested in refurbishment of hotel "Grand".

- About 2m EUR will be invested in the part of suite complex "Konaci" that will be turned into hotel "Suvo rudište", while 2.5m EUR will be invested in refurbishment of the rest of "Konaci" complex - said he.

Kostić said that 3.5m EUR would be invested in construction of parking lot and garage with 400 parking places.

- By the end of this year, "MK Group" will invest 5.5m EUR in facilities on Kopaonik mountain - he specified.

According to his words, 2.5m EUR will be invested in 2010 and in 2011, while 1.5m EUR will be invested in 2012.

Kostić pointed out that the aim of refurbishment works was to increase the capacities of the tourism complex, which should result in greater number of guests.

Jaroslav Stupavski, the assistant to the President of "MK Group", said that 960,000 EUR had been invested in procurement of bed linens, furniture and introduction of wireless Internet during the first few months after "MK Group" had become the owner of hotel "Grand" and suite complex "Konaci".

Stupavski said that "MK Group" worked on improvement of energy efficiency, that is, complete replacement of roofs and windows on the facilities, in association with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), which was willing to grant up to 3.5m EUR for that purpose.

He announced that construction of "wellness center" at 2,000 square meters would start in winter season 2009/2010.
