Fishing center, bathing resort and recreation center "Krajišnik" - new project worth about 6.6m EUR in Sečanj

In case it fails to find the investor in the meantime, Municipality of Sečanj will start development of Fishing center, bathing resort and recreation center "Krajišnik" on the territory of old brickkiln in about one year. Total value of the project is estimated at 56m RSD (about 6.6m EUR). According to the preliminary project, two lakes will be dug up at the surface of 15 ha – one will be used for bathing (5 ha) and the other will be used for fishing (2.5 ha). The complex should be completed with the development of hotel with 30 to 40 beds, which should be built in ethnic style.

- In addition to two lakes and motel, construction of substation, treatment unit and other facilities are also in the pipeline, as well as afforestation works, which should "color" the entire complex. There is a possibility of development of holiday houses within the complex, but that depends on the wishes of potential investors – Predrag Rađenović, the Deputy Mayor of Sečanj, explains and points out that Sečanj will start implementation of the project with the help of the state and the province if no investor is found.

As Rađenović pointed out, the Capital Investments Fund of Vojvodina promised financial support, while Sečanj also applied for the funds from NIP.

- The investment is big because Sečanj does not lie on any river, so that we must rely on wells. We have completed the Feasibility study for thermal waters. Municipality of Sečenj is ideal for spa tourism. The temperature of the waters at the depth of about 500 meters is about 60 degrees and they are perfect for heating of the facilities. The temperature of the waters at the depth of about 1,000 meters is about 100 degrees, they are rich with minerals and, thus, suitable for spa tourism – Rađenović explains.
