Destiny of Aranđelovac-based hotels depends on Government of Serbia – possible announcement of tender for rental of "Staro zdanje" and "Šumadija"

Following the burglary in hotel "Staro zdanje" and numerous appeals submitted by company "Bukovička banja" and Municipality of Aranđelovac for the hotel in the park of Bukovička Banja Spa to be saved, Directorate for Property of Republic of Serbia, as the hotel owner, proposed some conditions for resolving of destiny of hotels “Staro Zdanje” and “Šumadija" to the Government of Serbia.

According to the words of acting manager of "Bukovička banja", Miomir Radovanović, everything now depends on the Government of Serbia, which should announce tender for rental of these two hotels on period of 30 years.

The basic condition is that the annual rent should amount to 350,000 EUR, but it would be reduced depending on the amount of investments, and renter’s obligation would be to have the hotels restored under supervision of the Institute for Preservation of Cultural Monuments and to make them the four-star hotels.

Radovanović pointed out that there were some interested renters, but he said that the tender would show how serious their intentions were, because about 7m EUR should be invested only in "Staro zdanje".
