The Arcadis company has published the International Construction Costs Index for the year 2016, which shows that New York is the costliest city for construction. London ranks second, being about 20% costlier than Paris that ranks ninth.
Taipei has by far the lowest construction costs. This list also includes Belgrade which Arkadis considers to be the 11th cheapest city for construction. Aside from Belgrade, neighboring capitals Budapest, Sofia, Bucharest and Sarajevo have also made it to the top 15 cheapest cities for construction.
