According to the prognoses of Bank Austria Creditanstaalt (BA-CA), the economy of Serbia will enjoy a strong growth in the following years. This company from Austria points out that the political agreement is crucial for economic progress.

Serbian economy, however, will not be able to show full potential, because the structural reforms are slow and limited to only few sectors. This is underlined by the analysts of the aforementioned bank in the first this-year quarter report on the economies of southeast Europe.

According to BA-CA, this-year growth of gross national product of Serbia should amount to about 6%, while the GNP in next year should grow to 6.3%, and to 6.5% in 2009.

The stability of the prices will be maintained with the support from the strong national currency, BA-CA expects. Also, its prognosis for this-year inflation is that it will amount to 8%, whereas the inflation in 2008 and 2009 will amount to 5.5% and 5.7%.
