Gebruder Weiss celebrates 10th anniversary in Serbia

Last night, Gebruder Weiss celebrated its tenth anniversary of operations in Serbia at Belexpo center in New Belgrade. The ceremony marking this significant jubilee was attended by the representatives of the Managing Board from the Austrian headquarters who gave the green light for the expansion of the existing terminal in Dobanovci by additional 10,300 square meters this year.

The history of Gebruder Weiss in Serbia, its business results and plans for the future were presented by Gebruder Weiss Srbija General Manager Dragan Simovic, Wolfgang Niessner, the chairman of the Gebruder Weiss Managing Board in charge of logistics and land transport, Heinz Senger Weiss, a member of the Managing Board responsible for the Air & Sea sector, sales and customs, and Erich Schafer, regional director fot the South.

The company's business expansion in Serbia began April 2004. As early as in 2008 this company connected Serbia with every part of Europe through its numerous groupage lines. Headquartered in Dobanovci, Gebruder Weiss Srbija has an affiliate in Strojkovce near Leskovac and employs 160 workers.

Gebruder Weiss was established back in 1823 as a family firm, while the actual business history of this company dates back to 1330. The GW headquarters is situated in the Austrian city of Lauterach. With over 6,000 employees, 162 production facilities worldwide and an annual revenue of EUR 1.2 billion, it is one of the leading transportation and logistics companies in Europe.
