After talks between the representatives of Petroleum Industry of Serbia NIS and several possible strategic partners (Lukoil, Petrol, MOL, Hellenic Petroleum..), the offer arrived from consortium Shell-Kellogg. This consortium's bid differs from the others in the fact that it does not want to purchase refineries Novi Sad and Pančevo (which was offered by most of the candidates), but offers capital and know-how according to mutual profit principle.
Shell estimates that modernization of refineries could result in profit of 100 million USD, whereas minimal investments in new technology exceed amount of 700 million USD.
Final decision on this offer will be made by the Government of Serbia.
