China interested in investing in timber industry and mining in Serbia
Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Domestic Trade Rasim Ljajic spoke with Secretary General of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce Zhang Chuancy on September 21st about the possibility of boosting the trade between the two countries and the potential for attracting Chinese investment to Serbia.
Zhang expressed special interest in Chinese investment in the timber industry, mining and furniture production in Serbia, the PM's Office said in a release on Thhursday.
He stressed that aforementioned sectors were interesting for investors from China because of the availability and quality of raw materials and qualified manpower.
Zhang pointed out that the organization he represented was also interested in importing food products from Serbia, such as beef and mineral water, adding that certain Chinese companies had expressed readiness to import cement from Serbia.
