Members of Belgrade Chamber of Commerce plan to buy faculty
The chambers of commerce of Belgrade and the Italian city of L'Aquila today signed a cooperation agreement allowing for the exchange of students and experts and making it easier for businessmen to connect with each other.
After signing that agreement, President of the Belgrade Chamber of Commerce (BCC) Milan Jankovic said to the press that the BCC planned to buy a construction engineering faculty in Serbia and partner it up with a related higher education institution in L'Aquila. He did not want to reveal the name of the faculty whose acquisition was being negotiated.
- The best architectural and civil engineering faculty is situated in L'Aquila, and the cooperation between the two chambers of commerce will allow for the exchange of students and experts - Jankovic told Beta news agency.
He pointed out that it was necessary to change the previous practice of educating students to become candidates for the labor market and not to satisfy the needs of companies. Therefore, as he assessed, the future cooperation between the chambers of commerce of Belgrade and L'Aquila is important for the economy of Serbia, particularly in the fields of catering, construction, information technologies, where Italians achieve very good results.
- The L'Aquila Chamber of Commerce is well connected with all chambers in Italy, and this agreement will also apply to all of its partners - said Jankovic.
President of the L'Aquila Chamber of Commerce Lorenzo Santilli said that Italy considered Serbia an important partner for economic development, adding that the businessmen from L'Aquila were interested in working with Serbian companies.
