GDP down by 1.9 percent in 2012
Overall economic activities in 2012, measured by gross domestic product (GDP) and expressed in prices of the previous year, will drop by 1.9 percent from 2011, the Republic Statistics Institute said in a release on Friday.
The biggest GDP growth was seen in the following sectors: information and communications, expert, scientific, innovation and technical activities, administrative and auxiliary service activities.
The largest decline in GDP was recorded in agriculture, forestry and fishing, other service activities and accommodation and restaurant services.
The volume of industrial production went down by 3.4 percent in 2012, mainly thanks to the electricity, gas and steam supply sector.
It is estimated that the real decline in agricultural production in 2012 was 17.5 percent.
