NIS opens first Gazprom filling station in Romania
The Petroleum Industry of Serbia (NIS), a daughter company of GazpromNeft, has opened its first filling station in Romania under the Gazprom brand name, the company said in a release.
This filling station is situated in the town of Sibiu, 300 km away from Bucharest, on the international highway Bucharest-Budapest-Vienna.
By the end of 2013, as part of a project aimed at developing the retail network of Gazprom filling stations in the Balkan market, over 50 filling stations will be opened in Romania. Operational management of that network of gas stations in the Balkans will be entrusted to NIS, reads the release.
Romania is the second European country to get a Gazprom filling station. The first Gazprom gas station was opened December 19th in Serbia. Further expansion of the network under the new brand name is also in the pipeline in Bulgaria and Bosnia-Herzegovina. By the end of 2013, Gazprom network in the Balkans will include about 100 gas stations.
