"Zelenilo Beograd" and Municipality of Zemun to invest 30 million CSD in Big War Island - future challenge for tourists

Public Utility Company "Zelenilo Beograd", in cooperatin with the Municipality of Zemun, will invest about 30 million CSD during 2006 in the organization of the Big War Island.
According to the announcements, that attraction of Belgrade's will, after the organization, be available to all nature lovers. Since the island is covered with bushes on some parts, the plan is that the space be cleaned, existing flora organized, new vegetation planted and that several pedestrian paths be built.
In addition to the organization, the project implies protection of all animal species and re--settling of those animals who once resided on this island.
Manager of Public Utility Company "Zelenilo Beograd", Radovan Draškić, said that the island would be divided into three zones and that each part would be organized in the special way in accordance with the Law on Environment Protection in Serbia.
North part of the island will be covered with the catering facilities and the pier for boats will be built in that zone. The central part of the island will be home to the natural carp hatchery - Galijaš, which will be connected through the channel with the running water. South part of the island will remain strict reservation with the paths that will connect all memorable spots on the island.
