Regional conference on government administration modernization in Belgrade - October 6-7

The Ministry for Human and Minority Rights, State Administration and Local Self-government is organizing a regional conference dedicated to key challenges for the development a modern government administration. The event will take place on October 6 and 7.

The conference that will be held in Belgrade is part of a bigger program implemented by the Ministry in collaboration with the Swedish Institute for Public Administration, and with a financial assistance from the Swedish government.

The participant countries are Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Slovenia, and Serbia. Guests of the conference will be high officials of Sweden, Slovenia, Slovakia, Serbia, the European Commission, as well as representatives of donor organizations.

The aim of the conference is to improve regional cooperation in the reform of government administration, with a focus on the improvement of services rendered to citizens, the management of reforms, and the development of capacities for the implementation of the EU acquis. The participant countries are in different phases of the EU accession, which may contribute to the cooperation and exchange of experiences.
