Milka Forcan confirmed intention of Delta holding to buy Mercator

Vice-president of Delta holding, Milka Forcan, has confirmed that this Serbian company is interested in buying Slovenian company Mercator and that "it is working possible ways to do that" at the moment.

"It is very hard to get to the majority package of Mercator, as larger part of the shares is in non market posession of Istrabenc and Beer factory 'Lasko', said Forcan pointing out that Delta was going for sure into the Slovenian market sooner or later, and that neither media nor political pressure could stop this.

Forcan estimated that Slovenian enterprisers should mostly be interested in Delta's entrance in Mercator, under supposition that for Slovenian enterpriserts economic interest is in the first place.

"From the outcome of this project on the long term bases depends their placeing at the markets not only in Serbia, but also in other countries. If there was a creation of regional trade chain for which we are fighting for, it would be a jumping point for Slovenian and Serbian goods on the markets of Romania, Bulgaria, Albania and other countries of South-Eastern Europe", said Forcan.
