London company "Altima Global" announced offer for buying off of 25% of the "Mercator" shares

London company for management of investing funds "Altima Global" has announced, through a financial mediator, the brocker house "Ilirika", an offer for purchasing the largest Slovenian trade chain, "Mercator".

"Altima" wants to buy off at the most 25% of the shares, and for one share it offered 41.000 tollars, that is 170 eur, and the share holders will be able to decide from April, 28th, 2006, wether they want to sell their shares or not.

The director of the lawful sector of "Ilirika", Rock Rosman, announced that the offer is applied to 785.106 of the "Mercator" shares in total, and that it is valid for all share holders. He also said that in that brocker house it was being expected to get the wished quantity of shares. If purchase of all 25% of the shares succeeds, "Altima" would have to give for this transaction around 32.2 billions tollars.

The news that "Altima" wants the ownership in "Mercator" has disturbed Slovenian public, and the larges share holders, "Istrabenz" and "Pivovarna Lasko" repeted that their parts would not be sold. It is estimated that to the offer of Altima, most probabley would answer the remained small share holders which have in their property around 42% of "Mercator" shares - 23% of the shares is in the hands of citizens, and the remaining 20% is in the property of enterprisers.
