Construction of Single Rail Dispatch Center Begins

The construction of the Single Rail Dispatch Center with systems for the management and control of rail traffic in Serbia has begun, announced the company Serbian Railways Infrastructure.

The first works, as added, started on February 19, and in the past month and a half, around 50 kilometers of canals for the laying down of optical cables along the railroads in the Belgrade rail hub, from Zeleznik and Ostruznica to Makis, have been dug through.

– The digging of the canals for optical cables on the railroad between Mala Krsna and Velika Plana is in progress. The Single Rail Dispatch Center will be located at the rail station Beograd Ranzirna in Makis and be built in the facility in which the Telekomanda building is currently located in Makis, and it will encompass all railroads managed by the Serbian Railways Infrastructure, including the Belgrade-Subotica fast railroad – the company points out.

As they emphasize at the company, the Single Rail Dispatch Center, as the first such facility not just in Serbia, but also in the region, is a very important project within the modernization of the Serbian railroads for the safety, control and management of rail traffic, which should unify this whole system and rail functions.

– The Single Rail Dispatch Center will consist of the Operating – Control and Supervision Center of Serbia in Makis, with regional dispatch centers in Novi Sad, Nis and Pozega. This center will enable the raising of the levels of the safety of the rail traffic to the highest level, a more efficient control of rail traffic on Serbian railroads, as well as the optimal usage of the infrastructural capacities for the purposes of cargo and passenger traffic. The project of the construction of the Single Rail Dispatch Center entails dispatch centralization and energy devices, securing the necessary types of connections, the construction of the accompanying infrastructure, the creation of automated systems and a computer complex, the supply of suitable equipment, the installation of technical safety devices, as well as the creation of the conditions for the diagnostics of the trains while they are moving – they clarify at the Serbian Railways Infrastructure.
