Local authorities in Kragujevac sent official invitation to Slovenian company "Mercator" and invited its representatives to come to Kragujevac on April 7 and answer if they were going to have the facility built on the land of 2.2 ha Mercator rented 3 years ago on period of 99 years and paid 3.5 million EUR.

Only then will local authorities take into consideration, in case Slovenian company gives negative answer, offering that land on the auction once again.

Three years ago, present authorities signed pre-contract with company "Mercator", of which representatives announced construction of trade center on surface of about 20,000 square meters according to already elaborated preliminary solution of the project.

With the arrival of new city authorities, at the end of 2004, the realization of that project was stopped with the explanation that the trade center can not be built on the entire surface, but only on 1.4 ha, because the major part of the surface, according to the present detailed regulation plan, should be covered with trees, plants and grass. According to the announcement of Nebojša Vasiljević, Mercator can have a facility built on that location, but only on two instead of three floors.

Outcome of this big investment will be known soon.
