By a majority vote, the MPs of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia relieved Rade Basta of the duty of the minister of economy in the Government of the Republic of Serbia.

– The dismissal of the minister of economy was proposed by the prime minister of Serbia, Ana Brnabic, at the initiative of the coalition of the Socialist Party of Serbia and United Serbia, which recommended him for the function in the first place, because he had been making statements running counter to the state and national policy – the government says in the announcement.

Until the new minister is appointed, the duties of the minister of economy have been taken on by the deputy prime minister and minister of finance of Serbia, Sinisa Mali.
