External Trade of Serbia Increases 30.8%
The value of exports amounted to EUR 24.81 billion, which was 26.4% increase, compared to the same period last year. The value of imports amounted to EUR 34.46 billion, which was 34.1% increase when compared to the same period last year, as announced on the website of the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia.
The deficit expressed in euros amounted to 9.64 billion, which was an increase of 58.9% compared to the same period last year.
The export-import ratio equaled 71.9% and was lower if compared to the same period last year when it was 76.4%.
The external trade in the reference period noted the highest level with the counties with which we have signed agreements on free trade. European Union member countries account for 58.8% of total external trade.
Our second major partner refers to the CEFTA countries, since our gained surplus in external trade amounted to USD 2.42 billion, resulting mainly from the exports of agricultural products (cereals and produces thereof), oil and oil derivatives, iron and steel, beverages and electrical machines and apparatus.
