Merkur's creditors claim €550 million
Several banks and the largest business partners will be deciding on the success of the procedure of compulsory settlement of debts of Slovenia's Merkur market chain.
According to the web portal Dnevnik.si, over 3,200 creditors have submitted claims for a total of nearly 550 million euros. The biggest creditor of Merkur is Nova Kreditna Banka (New Credit Bank) Maribor, which claims 73 million euros, and it is followed by Abanka Vipa (61.8 million euros), Mersteel (52.8 million euros), and Gorenjska Banka (52.8 million euros).
When it comes to Merkur's business partners, the biggest creditors are Gorenje, Salonit Anhovo, Acroni, Jub, Lafarge Cement, and Cinkarna Celje. The draft of Merkur's financial restructuring plan envisages repayment of 62% of debts to creditors if they decide not to exchange their claims for a stake in the company. The shareholders of Merkur will make the decision on company's recapitalization on February 25.Most Important News
