A Step Toward Reconstruction of Air Force Headquarters Building in Zemun – Tender for Designer Opens

The Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments of the City of Belgrade has opened the tender for the project of the reconstruction of the Air Force Headquarters building in Zemun, which was damaged during the NATO bombing campaign.

The subject of the procurement is the preparation of the full project documentation for the reconstruction of this building, which has the status of a cultural monument.

– The building of the Air Force Headquarters, with 15,000 m2, was built in 1936, according to a design by architect Dragisa Brasovan, in the location of the former Military Headquarters in Zemun. It is one of Brasovan’s most original works, an important work of Yugoslav modernism from the interwar period – the technical specification of the tender emphasizes.

The plan is to either restore or replace the carpentry and the joinery, to repair the façade, to install thermal and hydro insulation of the ceiling and the roof, the gutter and the lightning rod structure and thermal insulation of the basement ceiling, to repair all the walls in the rooms in the facility, to adapt the sanitary blocks and replace the flooring, as well as to prepare a study of energy efficiency and interventions on power, telecommunications and thermal-technical installations.


The estimated value of the job is RSD 18.2 million, and the tender expires on August 4.
