Automated case management in primary and higher courts
- Serbian Justice Minister Snežana Malović and Goran Ćirić, CEO of public company PTT Srbija, signed the protocol on cooperation yesterday (June 2, 2010), which will expand application of the automated case management system to higher and primary courts in Serbia – it is announced on the website of the Serbian Government.
After she signed that document in the Special Court, Malović said that the Automated Case Management (ACM) Programme would facilitate the work of lawyers, as well as citizens, who would be able to enter the desired case on the Internet, see when the complaint was lodged, when the hearing was held, or when the verdict was delivered, etc.
She said that the citizens or lawyers who had something to do with primary or higher courts would be able to access Internet to get all the information they used to learn at courts.
As she reminded, the Automated Case Management Programme has, so far, been introduced in the work of all commercial courts in Serbia, while the education of staff at primary and higher courts is in progress.
Malović said that she expected all 60 higher and primary courts to be connected to the network by the end of August and estimated that, thanks to the introduction of new technologies in the judicial system, court verifications would take significantly less time.
According to her words, average time for verifications at the court windows from four weeks ago amounts to four minutes per case, that is, it is 10 times shorter than in January and February.
The signing of this protocol will make it possible for the Ministry of Justice and judicial institutions to use qualified electronic certificates of Certification body PTT.
This form of cooperation represents a good base for realization of the E-administration project and further use of services of PTT for the needs of the authorized ministry and judicial system development.
