Four and a half years after the works started, the Trans-Adriatic Gas Pipeline (TAP), which connects Greece, Albania and Italy through the Adriatic Sea, has started working. The pipeline is 878 kilometers long.

The plan is for the pipeline to transport the gas from Azerbaijan to several markets in Europe.

The project's website says that the gas pipeline meets the standards of quality, health, safety and ecology.

The director of the project said that the long-term vision had become reality and that he was proud.

The gas pipeline goes through Greece (550 km), Albania (215 km), beneath the Adriatic Sea (105 km) and into Italy.
