Russian Far East shipyard Zvezda and state corporation Rosatom have signed an agreement on the building of the world's most powerful nuclear icebreaker, “Leader”.

The construction will require around EUR 1.5 billion, and the plan is for the icebreaker to be completed by 2027 at the latest.

As said, by 2033, Rosatom plans to commission three such icebreakers.

The icebreakers within the 10510 project are designed as the most powerful nuclear icebreakers in the world. They will be used to secure safe navigation in the North Sea throughout the year.
