"Vip mobile" announced open competition for programmers from Serbia - prize fund of 20,000 EUR for development of software for "Google" OS "android"
Company "Vip Mobile" in Serbia announced the open competition today (November 18, 2009) for development of software for "Google" operative system "android", which is utilized by "smart" mobile phones, with the prize fund of 20,000 EUR.
The President of the Administrative Board of "Vip Mobile", Aleksandar Šperl, said at the press conference in Belgrade that it was the first open competition of the kind in the region, and he added that the aim of "Android Challenge" was the development of software for Serbian market.
The conditions for participation in the competition is that the software has Serbian version and that it is for free - said Šperl and added that the winner would receive 10,000 EUR, the second-ranked competitor would be rewarded with 3,000 EUR, the third one would get 1,000 EUR, and 11 "HTC hiro" phones would also be awarded.
The registration for participation in the open competition can be done prior to December 31st, on website http://android.vipmobile.rs, while the deadline for submission of draft software is January 31st, 2010.
All persons older than 18, companies and faculties can take part in the competition.
The software submitted to the open competition will be available for download in "android market", which currently offers 15,000 different applications for smart phones with that operative system.
