Factory of thermal sensors opens in Subotica – Moving of production from China to Serbia planned as well
The investment is worth EUR 1 million.
The company has been operating since 1984 and is headquartered in Germany. In addition to Subotica, it has production facilities in Holland, China and Hong Kong, it is said on the website of the Provincial Government of Vojvodina.
– The factories we see today here, in the Industrial Zone in Subotica, are symbols of economic cooperation with countries worldwide. We are ready for new direct investments in zones we've built and equipped throughout Vojvodina. Our aim is for the unemployment rate in Vojvodina to be below 8% and that will be our most significant result – said the president of the Provincial Government, Igor Mirovic.
According to him, Germany is the biggest investor in the territory of Vojvodina, which is very important, both from the aspect of employing local people and the technology arriving along with the German companies.
– German investments in Vojvodina have reached the amount of EUR 1.4 billion, and there are currently around 50 German companies operating here, employing more than 60,000 workers in our country, 22,000 of which in Vojvodina – Mirovic pointed out.
Mayor of Subotica Bogdan Laban says that the current year is once again marked by the strengthening of cooperation with Germany and thanked all the investors which invest in Subotica, because there are currently 6,000 workers in the Industrial Zone.
The director of B+B Sensor Solutions d.o.o. in Subotica, Daniel Spehar, stated that the opening of the factory was a great day for the company and that its arrival to Serbia opened numerous business opportunities for it and and provided it with an opportunity to meet young experts. There's also a plan to move production lines from China to Serbia.
The opening of the factory was attended by the economy adviser of the president of the Republic of Serbia, Jorg Heskens, and the first secretary and head of the Department for Economic Cooperation of the Embassy of Germany, Leoni Reimers.
