Car battery factory "Sombor" expects incomes of 45m EUR – production of batteries for scooters and motorcycles to start at the end of year
- Car battery factory Sombor (FAS) expects to register 45m EUR worth of incomes by the end of year 2009, which is 37.8% more than in 2008 – said Radovan Mijailović, the Director General of that factory.
- FAS is to deliver 180,000 ordered batteries in October, which will represent both monthly record production and monthly record sales - Mijailović said to the press.
He pointed out that FAS had produced 140,000 car batteries in September, 100,000 of which had been exported, while 40,000 had ended in Serbian market.
According to his words, FAS exports its products to Russian market, the countries of European Union, former Yugoslavia, and Africa.
- FAS has the production process that is technically and technologically complete, we produce almost all products by ourselves, from acids and lead alloys to plastic boxes for batteries – said Mijailović.
The experts of FAS, as he pointed out, have been working on development of new technology over the last year, and new car battery “White Horse” was launched in June 2009.
According to the words of the Marketing Manager in FAS, Nikola Zagorac, that battery has 20% larger starting power and its price is 15% higher than the price of classical car battery, and it is intended for new, luxurious vehicles that need additional energy.
- The advantage of calcium-potassium technology, which is applied to “White Horse” car battery, lies in the fact that we can offer a battery with high performances in a housing of smaller dimensions – Zagorac pointed out.
This battery is hermetically closed, which makes it safe and environment-friendly. Its life is longer and charging is quicker.
The Director General of FAS pointed out that that factory would start producing batteries for scooters and motorcycles and fishing products at the end of the year. Production of lead buckshot for hunting ammunition has started recently, while the production of car batteries for hybrid vehicles will be organized in the future.
The factory in Sombor employs 400 people, and it was privatized in 2006 by Šabac-based concern "Farmakom MB", which has invested over 15m EUR in FAS to the date.
