Sarajevo-based Poslovne Novine magazine together with the Foreign Trade Chamber of Bosnia and Herzegovina is organizing the regional conference “Export Challenges – Need to form a unique regional market” on August 29, 2019.

--The region today is fragmented, in economic sense too, and hence less attractive for investing into. If we form a joint market, it will only augment the appeal of the region and create a climate for new opportunities, adding value to all. For that reason, a joint economic market is a prerequisite for development of Western Balkans economies and must be at the forefront of economic and political agendas, the organizers stated.

According to MMF and The World Bank analyses, closer regional integrations in the EU would bring the region an annual growth of over 4% , which would lead to nominal BDP increase in EUR 15 billion to EUR 17 billion. Creating a joint market would in practice mean that the region countries have joint fess, rates, taxes, subventions for foreign investors, there would be no economic limits but twice as many direct investments.

Aside from the main topic, two additional modules will be in the programme - “ Work force leaving – how to ensure continued growth without quality labour” and “Advantages of digitized society – taking further steps”. The topics of the panel conference are of most interest to representatives of companies focused on exports and to their suppliers and partners. Exports are of great significance to any country because it connects many service and production activities which are largely under the influence of export trends.

– Almost all Western Balkans countries have been searching for more or less successful models of economic recovery and it seems they have agreed upon a solution they could all support -unique regional market. Joint market would remove obstacle in trade, would introduce standardized rules for companies, it would abolish laws preventing interregional business and it would be built on the existing free trade agreements, said Ahmet Egrlic, the President of the Foreign Trade Chamber of B&H.

Among this year's panelists are : Mirko Sarovic the Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of B&H, Ahmet Egrlic, the Vice President of the Foreign Trade Chamber of B&H.
