Following a GM in FAP, held last Thursday, June 28, 2018, a new Supervisory Board was formed at the recommendation of the Government of Serbia, says the website of the municipality of Priboj. The new Supervisory Board consists of representatives of the Ministry of Defense, who will run FAP through it, and the Serbian Armed Forces are now officially present in the management bodies of this factory, the website adds.

According to the Director General of FAP, Ranko Vukovic, the old Supervisory Board, previously appointed by the Ministry of Economy and the Government of Serbia, has been relieved of duty and a new one has been formed based on the decision by the Government of Serbia, with three members representing the Ministry of Defense and the Serbian Armed Forces. The president of the new Supervisory Board is Colonel Tomislav Radivojevic, a representative of the Ministry of Defense.

The management organs remain the same. The Executive Board, the director general, the executive director and other management members will not change. As Vukovic says, these changes mean a lot to FAP and Priboj.

– We have become a part of a family. FAP has had a permit for the production of arms and military equipment for a number of years now. This will certainly make things easier for us at FAP, as the Ministry of Defense was our client and now we have an agreement with the Serbian Armed Forces, that is, the Supply Department, so I expect another agreement with the Serbian Armed Forces next month – Vukovic revealed.

Vukovic reminded that, with these agreements, FAP has joined the company of business entities that produce equipment and arms for the Serbian Armed Forces, which certainly means that the former giant will be given the same treatment as other factories from the arms industry.

Although the Ministry of Defense is now in charge of management control in FAP, this doesn’t exclude the possibility of the factory’s producing commercial vehicles as well in the future.

– We have the need for enhancing and modernizing our commercial program with development projects and new strategic partners – Vukovic said.

The director general of FAP said that, keeping in mind the agreements signed so far, around 200 people will still be hired and that the ambition was to increase the number in the future, as well as the volume of production.
