Representatives of the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia talked with the delegation of the Penza Area about the possibilities of enhancing the economic cooperation between Serbia and this Russian area on Friday, November 17, 2017. The Russian delegation included representatives of four companies, LKT-Ekspo, Stankomas Stroj, SanTrek Centr and Suratehsteklo, interested in partnership with companies from Serbia, the CCIS announced.

Katarina Momcilovic Matic, manager of the Center for Bilateral Cooperation, pointed out that, in 2016, Russia was the third foreign trade partner of Serbia in total trade, the fifth exporting market (after Italy, Germany, B&H and Romania) and the fourth partner in import (after Germany, Italy and China).

– According to the data to the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia, the total foreign trade of goods with the Russian Federation amounted to USD 2.3 billion in 2016. In the three quarters of the current year, there has been an increase in both the export and the import, and if this trend continues, the total value of the exports might exceed a billion dollars by the end of 2017 – Momcilovic Matic emphasized.

The delegation of the Penza Area was headed by the vice-president of the Chamber of Commerce, Vladimir Parshin, who reminded that the businessmen of this area had visited the CCIS the previous year as well, when five Russian companies had bilateral meetings with 28 Serbian companies.

The Penza Area has 1,5 million residents, and its capital has 530 thousand citizens. Only one company exports to Serbia at the moment, whereas Serbian apples are available in the area. As Parshin said, they are especially interested in developing small and medium business.

LKT-Ekspo produces vacuum machines, sewer equipment and fuel cisterns, Stankomas Stroj produces metal processing equipment and lathes, SanTrek Centr produces household appliances, whereas Suratehsteklo produces industrial equipment for manufacture of glass, metal processing industry and production of furniture, the press release says.
