Prvi maj to produce components for Skoda - By the end of 2017, Auto Cacak is starting components production for Czech cars

By the end of 2017, restart of production in Cacak-based factory Prvi maj which should produce some of the components for Czech car factory Skoda is planned. This was communicated to reporters on Monday (June 19, 2017), by the owner of Auto Cacak, Milenko Kostic, after he met with the Ambassador of the Czech Republic, Ivana Hlavsova at his company premises.

According to the owner of Auto Cacak, negotiations on starting production of components for the factory in Cacak-based Prvi maj have been ongoing for a few months and the plan is to be concretized until New Year, with the support of Auto Cacak as a partner as well as the Czech Embassy.

- We expect to start production of certain components for Skoda factory by the end of the year. We have been working on this for a long time, we have the support of the Embassy. Production facility would be built at the Prvi maj plant which is currently in bankruptcy. Negotiations on what would be produced are still in progress, there are plenty of possibilities – Kostic announced.

Czech ambassador said that Auto Cacak is a symbol of successful economic cooperation with Serbia, which is at the very top in terms of sales of Škoda vehicles in the region.- Future cooperation depends mostly on Serbian consumers and a wish to buy Skoda cars. Now, sale is at a good level and Serbia takes leading position - Ivana Hlavsova, Ambassador of the Czech Republic in Belgrade, said.
